And still more toys. What was most impressive exhibit, though, was not the toys but one titled "In Memoriam: Remembering the Great War." The exhibit included the stories of 90 individuals whose lives were impacted by the first world war chosen to "illustrate the different aspects and key events of the Great War and its aftermath." Each story is accompanied by some physical artifact -- a bloodied tunic cut off of the individual following his being wounded, the a soldier wrote to his wife on the eve of the battle in which he died. The combination of the stories and artifacts captured the impact of the war at a personal level very effectively.
